What is photovoltaics?
Photovoltaics is the technology of obtaining electricity from solar radiation using photovoltaic panels. These panels consist of photovoltaic cells made of a semiconductor material such as silicon, which convert sunlight into electricity. They use the phenomenon of the photovoltaic effect, in which a photon (light particle) strikes a cell and causes electrons to be released, generating an electric current.
The direct current produced is then converted by the inverter into alternating current, which can be used at home or transferred to the power grid. Photovoltaic systems are often equipped with meters to monitor energy production and control its use, ensuring optimal management.
